With a few days left before Trump takes office, experts claim that he’s likely to be impeached within two years. Whether you like him or not, he’s the 45th president of the United States, and he’ll get an enormous amount of power handed to him. The main concern is – How is he going to use the power handed to him?
Well, one of the main reasons why people believe he won’t last past two years is his controversial past and his attitude. The numerous scandals that marked his campaign have made him a liability and an embarrassment for the Republican Party which directly affects his vulnerability to impeachment within the first two years of his service.
The most recent controversial document was published by Buzzfeed, and it contains evidence of Trump’s alleged treason with Russia, among other things. However, Mr. Trump denied these accusations calling them “fake news.”
“I think it is highly likely that he will be impeached in the first 12 to 18 months. Whether it will be about the Russia dossier or other scandals that are undoubtedly there, he has become a liability for the Republican party. At some point, they will need to distance themselves from him in order to solidify reelection for the House.”
In her opinion, it’s hardly unlikely that the military leaders suddenly become friendly with Russia, and vice versa. They are going to monitor his attempts to befriend Vladimir Putin. A major plot twist would be if Mr. Putin does have controversial evidence against Donald Trump. That would give him an enormous amount of blackmailing power over the 45th president of the United States.
On the other hand, some experts disagree with Mrs. Angelia Wilson. In their opinion, the Republican Party will do whatever is in their power to give Trump a chance. The reason for their unconditional support is mainly due to the potential consequences for a political party after evicting their candidate.
Terrence Casey, a political science professor, said –
“He will be president for four years, period. Unless he decides to go away or is impeached, then you can’t get rid of him.”
After all these speculations, we’re left to see how the situation is going to develop in the future. Hopefully, it’s going to be in the interest of the whole humanity.
We all know that Donald Trump is ready for anything, but no one thought he’s going to drop so low and mock an individual with a disability. Although this behavior is unacceptable, it’s even worse when done by someone who needs to be a role model for the whole nation.
Donald Trump has had a rally in South Carolina in which he defended his claims about thousands of Muslims cheering in front of the World Trade Center on the 9/11 memorial. He then tried to impersonate Serge Kovaleski who is the author of the article.
Trump said –
“Now, the poor guy — you ought to see the guy: ‘Uh, I don’t know what I said. I don’t remember”.
However, it’s not the quote that matters; it’s the way he presented it. Namely, Mr. Kovaleski suffers from arthrogryposis, a very severe disease affecting one’s joints and causing contractions. Donald Trump contoured his arms in an attempt to imitate the reporter, and then he quoted him. He thought it was funny to mock a disabled individual, however, a massive amount of people found it disgusting.
Of course, Donald Trump denied that he had any intentions of mocking a disabled person. He said –
“I have no idea who this reporter, Serge Kovaleski is, what he looks like or his level of intelligence. I don’t know if he is J.J. Watt or Muhammad Ali in his prime — or somebody of less athletic or physical ability. If Mr. Kovaleski is disabled, I would not know because I do not know what he looks like.”
Trump then claimed that he mimicked what he thought would be a flustered reporter trying to get out of a statement he made many years ago and not a disabled individual. He also added that he has “tremendous respect for people who are physically challenged.”
On the other hand, Mr. Kovaleski doesn’t believe Trump’s claims, and we can see why if we take a look at his statement. He said –
“Donald and I were on a first-name basis for years.”
After yet another scandal with Donald Trump as the main actor, a new question emerges – Is there something Donald Trump can’t say?
Sadly, there is no simple answer to this question. But, you need to remember one thing – the strongest power lies in people, not their leaders. As long as people stay oblivious to obvious problems, we won’t move an inch.
